About Me

Picture
I was born into a musical family, and my parents got me started on the violin at age 4 under the tutelage of Philadelphia-based Irish fiddler, Chris Brennan Hagy. Since that time, I have studied classically with Nancy Terlaak Poot, Rachel (Crozier) Lever, Lee Snyder, and Paul Chou. I have also played in numerous orchestras and ensembles, such as the Junior String Philharmonic, the Young People's Philharmonic, and Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout my classical training years, I continued to be involved in the Celtic music circle, and at the ripe old age of eight, I began performing professionally with my family's band, the Lockman Family Musicians and Dancers.

I have competed in many fiddle competitions over the years and have won numerous awards, such as at the Celtic Classic Fiddle Competition in Bethlehem, PA where I placed in the top 3 for several years, including first place for two consecutive years.

I have assisted Chris Brennan Hagy (a Philadelphia local teacher) with a weekly classical and folk violin group and summer workshops in Irish music, in addition to having a private violin studio of my own.

I currently play with the nationally-known traditional Irish band Poor Man's Gambit, and have formerly performed with several other musical groups including the Celtic folk band Burning Bridget Cleary.
